West End Single Mom, Daycare Owner Sponsors Fundraiser for Nonprofit She Credits with “Saving” Her Kids

This Media Announcement is
Relevant until July 7, 2012:

“I know that without the free and low cost programs that OSOY provides, my children would not have been able to experience a lot of what they did and could have made some very bad decisions. Their programming
is unique and very much needed in every community.  It provides hope for kids and help for parents especially the single mom with limited resources.”

Nicole King, a single mother of four daughters, and savvy, resourceful local business woman now lives and works in the West End area of Pittsburgh.  She was introduced to what is now OSOY (Operation Save Our Youth) through a friend, whose daughter participated in their Faith Based Mime Ministry called Children of Praise. Nicoleʼs oldest two daughters, then 9 and 10 years old, became interested and joined.  Sheʼs volunteered with the organization ever since and currently serves on a voluntary basis as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director.  OSOY is a grassroots, Faith Based organization that offers free and low cost programming for at-risk youth to help prevent the many negative influences they face on a daily basis.

“Iʼve been donating my time with this organization for years and this is one way for me to give back in a monetary way.  It takes a lot to make programs available to our youth and its imperative that programs like OSOY are able to continue their work in the community.”  “OSOY has been there for me and my hope is to see it be a blessing to youth and single parents in other communities.”

Nicoleʼs unique, home-based daycare center, called Sweet Dreams Childcare, provides 24 hour childcare in the West End and professional onsite childcare at weddings and special events.  On Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 1-3pm they will host their 2nd Annual Mystery Character “Celebrity” Extravaganza. This event will benefit Operation Save Our Youth and its programs. The event will be held at the Crafton-Ingram Bowling Lanes inside the Crafton-Ingram Shopping Center next to CW Price.  Cost of the event is $8/pp ages
11 and under and $10/pp 12 and up. This will include bowling shoes and 2 hours of fun filled bowling. Children can take a photo with our Mystery Character “Celebrity.”  For additional information or to register visit the Upcoming Events page at www.sweetdreamschildcare24-7.com or call (412) 331-0724.

You have the power to change a childʼs life, join us to see how!
