Imagination Movers ROCK-O-MATIC TOUR 2012 presented by The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust

Saturday, April 21, 2012, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., Benedum Center.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents IMAGINATION MOVERS ROCK-O-MATIC TOUR 2012 on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the Benedum Center. The tour will feature live music, and favorite songs and ideas to spark every child’s imagination. The Rock-O-Matic tour features Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche, and Scott “Smitty” Smith who will be playing all of their favorite songs from their wildly popular TV series, as well as debuting new material from their brand-new “Rock-O-Matic” CD/DVD. The new disc features some of the guys’ most high-energy music to date enhanced by a new collection of live-action and animated videos. The tour is produced by Buena Vista Concerts, a division of Disney Music Group. This concert is part of the Cohen & Grigsby Trust Presents series.

The key to the Movers’ appeal is that they combine danceable power pop songs with extremely catchy choruses and a knack for inspiring audience participation. Throw in a heaping helping of onstage silliness and you have a recipe for a live music event that will truly engage the littlest of kids along with their older siblings, parents and grandparents. It doesn’t hurt that the Movers pepper their live shows with musical references to their many inspirations, including U2, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack Johnson, the Beastie Boys and all sorts of classic and modern rockers.

Tickets ($28.25-$41.25) are now on sale for both performances on April 21, 2012, by calling (412) 456-6666, visiting the Box Office at Theater Square (655 Penn Avenue) or online at www.TrustArts.org. A limited number of Mini-Movers Packages ($121.25) are available. Mini-Movers Package includes: one premium seat within a select section of the Benedum Center, Orchestra Level; attendance, with parent(s), at a special Post-Show Party with an Imagination Movers Theme: The Think Tank, which includes healthy snacks for all of the “Little Movers” and their parent(s); Meet and greet photo opportunity with the Imagination Movers; Imagination Movers Poster (1 per ticket ordered); and Imagination Movers VIP Laminate.

The Imagination Movers began in 2003 as a rock band for kids in New Orleans and have grown into the stars of a hit television series seen in more than 55 countries on the Disney Channel. On the show, the Movers star as four friends who work together in the Idea Warehouse to solve problems through creativity and teamwork. Their friends Nina and Warehouse Mouse are there to help along the way as the Movers brainstorm ideas and explore the Warehouse’s many magical rooms. Each episode features two or more original Movers songs. In addition to winning an Emmy and a Common Sense Media Award, the Movers also have performed twice at the White House, as well as on Good Morning America, Live With Regis and Kelly and The View. The Movers’ CDs have earned more than 14 national awards, including a Daytime Entertainment Emmy® and coveted honors from the Parent’s Choice Foundation. http://www.imaginationmovers.com/.
